In lieu of studying or doing anything remotely productive, I decided to delete my Pottermore account and re-sort myself. I have been sorted 2 times prior to today: once in 2017 and once in 2018.
The first time I was sorted, I was put into Ravenclaw. I was happy with it at the time and it felt like a good fit. When I came across something Ravenclaw-related, I got it. The 20th Anniversary editions of the first book were published in June of 2017. I bought my copy as soon as they came out. I’m a sucker for a beautiful hardcover.
You can get it on Book Depository and Amazon. They have each of the house editions in both paperback and hardcover.
When 2018 rolled around, I made my husband—boyfriend at the time—take the quiz. He got Hufflepuff, and he felt as if he’d been WRONGED. Out of curiosity, I used my other e-mail to make a new account and check if I was still in fact a Ravenclaw. Spoiler: I was not. The sorting hat said I was a Slytherin, and I was pretty excited about it.
Today, I’m avoiding priorities and I can’t get myself to sit and read anything, so I deleted my account and started over again. I wanted to see if my house was different because I have changed a lot in the last two years. Turns out I was wrong. I’m apparently still just as cunning and ambitious. No surprise there.
I re-sorted myself into my Ilvermorny house each time as well. There was no change in that area; I’ve been put into Horned Serpent all three times.
I suppose I’m just drawn to snakes.
Horned Serpent “represents the mind and favors scholars”.
The only real change has been my Patronus. I went from a black and white cat in 2017, to a rare shark in 2018, to an even rarer Hippogriff now in 2019.
I pride myself on my Slytherin attributes. A lot of people look at me weirdly when I tell them I’m a Slytherin. Is it just me or are we swimming in a sea full of Hufflepuffs? My mom’s response to my being sorted was “isn’t that the evil one?” I mean what’s wrong with a little determination and leadership?
This Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Slytherin house edition is my pride and joy. I plan to get the rest of the series in the Slytherin editions when they come out. You can purchase each of the house editions in either paperback or hardcover as well:
If you have been sorted, re-sorted, or just favor a particular house, I’d love to know!
